Creating Iceland inspired jewelry is a process that requires careful attention to detail and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the country. At the heart of my design process is my choice of metals: brass and steel. These non-precious metals are not only sustainable but also offer a particular look and feel that perfectly captures the essence of Iceland. Brass is a "living" metal that changes color depending the environment he evolves in.
One of the techniques I use in creating Iceland inspired jewelry is texturing such as reticulation. By texturing the metal, I can create a surface that resembles the rugged, raw landscapes of Iceland. I constantly try to achieve an effect using a variety of tools and techniques, including experimenting ! The result is a surface that is both visually interesting and tactile.
Another important aspect of my design process is the use of color. To capture the essence of Iceland's unique environment, I use a variety of gemstones in different shades of blue, green, and gray. These colors are reminiscent of Iceland's glaciers, hot springs, and volcanic landscapes, and help to create a connection between the jewelry and the country that inspired it.
